Cross-Provider Model Evaluation

Cross-provider evaluation separates model access from quality measurement. API-hosted models, managed partner endpoints and BYOM deployments first produce responses on a common dataset; shared rubrics and deterministic metrics then support side-by-side comparison [src-268].

Evaluation contract

  • Representative prompts, inputs and expected outcomes
  • Controlled model and sampling configuration
  • Adaptive or static rubrics for qualitative properties
  • Deterministic metrics where ground truth supports them
  • Action-level metrics for tool calls and parameters
  • Latency, cost, privacy, regional and operational constraints
  • Versioned results and human review of meaningful failures

A unified SDK reduces integration work but does not make providers operationally equivalent [src-265][src-266][src-268].
