Cross-Provider Model Evaluation
Cross-provider evaluation separates model access from quality measurement. API-hosted models, managed partner endpoints and BYOM deployments first produce responses on a common dataset; shared rubrics and deterministic metrics then support side-by-side comparison [src-268].
Evaluation contract
- Representative prompts, inputs and expected outcomes
- Controlled model and sampling configuration
- Adaptive or static rubrics for qualitative properties
- Deterministic metrics where ground truth supports them
- Action-level metrics for tool calls and parameters
- Latency, cost, privacy, regional and operational constraints
- Versioned results and human review of meaningful failures
A unified SDK reduces integration work but does not make providers operationally equivalent [src-265][src-266][src-268].
