BMAD

BMAD is an open-source, artefact-led software-development methodology and workflow builder for guiding AI-assisted delivery [src-184, src-253]. Its durable specifications, roles and review gates can improve design-time discipline, but it does not provide production orchestration, workload identity, runtime isolation, observability or an enterprise control plane.

Enterprise assessment

  • Best fit: repeatable discovery, planning, architecture and implementation workflows where human-readable artefacts must survive model sessions.
  • Strength: explicit roles, staged workflows, reusable modules and BMad Builder customisation.
  • Boundary: file-based workflow continuity is not the same as transactional durable execution or governed organisational memory.
  • Current limitation: evaluation, team execution and graceful-degradation capabilities are still less mature than dedicated production runtimes and control planes [src-253].
