About me

I’m Robin Cartier — Group Product Manager based in 📍Paris, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, product strategy, and marketing technology.

At Decathlon Digital 🤾 I lead the CRM platform used to personalise the experience of 200M+ customers  across 67 markets. Previously: programmatic media, CRM at scale, and data products at Sky/Comcast 📺.

French 🇫🇷 and British 🇬🇧 citizen.

My story

My career started in digital marketing — programmatic media buying, CRM, behavioral analytics and attribution modelling – the full stack. Over the past decade, I moved from running campaigns to building the technology platforms behind them.

What drives me is the challenge of making complex systems genuinely useful: understanding what users actually need, translating that into a clear product vision, and shipping things that create measurable impact.

The latest advances in AI have made that challenge more exciting — and more consequential — than ever !

Interests

Artificial Intelligence & Agentic Systems

AI is the thread running through everything I do right now. At Decathlon Digital, I work on personalisation systems that use machine learning to adapt product recommendations, content, and experiences to individual users in real time. Beyond my day job, I’m deeply interested in agentic AI — systems that can reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks autonomously. I maintain a knowledge base of emerging technologies and concepts here.  This site itself is administered partly by agentic AI workflows.

Digital Marketing & Programmatic Media

I cut my teeth in performance marketing — running programmatic campaigns via Google DV360 and MediaMath, building multi-touch attribution models, and managing CRM programmes at scale. I understand the full funnel from impression to conversion, customer lifecycle management, churn, and bring that commercial grounding into every product decision I make.

Product Management

Product management is the craft I’ve invested the most in over the past decade. I work in the discovery-to-delivery loop: user research, hypothesis definition, roadmap prioritisation, cross-functional alignment, and outcome measurement. I favour outcome-led roadmaps over feature lists, and I believe the most important skill a PM can have is knowing what not to build. I’m particularly interested in how AI is changing the PM role itself — from a sparring partner used to write specs to defining agent evals to assess experiments.

Data, Analytics & Visualisation

Data is the lens through which I make every decision. I’m comfortable writing SQL, working in BigQuery, building Tableau dashboards, and running analysis in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter). I believe strongly that PMs who can autonomously process their own data make faster, more informed decisions. My GitHub includes several pet projects and personal research around using Python for data science: from customer segmentation, to churn modelling to dissecting the inner workings of recommendation systems.

Leadership & Team Building

Leading a team of product managers is a different skill from being a PM yourself. I focus on creating clarity (on vision, strategy and priorities), removing blockers, and building psychological safety — the conditions that let people do their best work. I care a lot about career development and about building diverse teams where different perspectives are genuinely valued. I’ve built and led cross-functional product teams across markets and time zones.
